🇨🇦 Introducing the 2027 Mizutani Canada Influencer Search
Mizutani Canada is growing across the country.
With new Regional Partners, showrooms, education, test-drive locations and local events being developed in different markets, we are also beginning the search for the 2027 Mizutani Canada Influencer team across Canada.
We want to meet hairstylists, barbers, educators and creators with strong professional credibility, a relevant audience and a genuine connection to the craft.
Selected Influencers may become connected to regional launches, demonstrations, workshops, product education and future Mizutani opportunities while helping introduce the brand to their own local professional communities.
The search begins here - and continues across Canada.
🍣🍶 Afternoon — Scissors, Sushi & Sake
The Mizutani Test Drive + Scissor Skills Workshop
Most artists use scissors every day.
Very few have ever been taught scissor skills.
In the same way knife skills help a chef understand how to handle, control and choose the right blade, Scissor Skills gives the hairstylist or barber a deeper understanding of the instrument behind the haircut.
You’ll work directly with Gino Dominic, Nick Benitez and Martin Truong, rotating through guided Mizutani stations and experiencing how different scissors behave in your hand.
The purpose is to help you understand when you want more control, more movement, more softness or more precision - and which tool can help you create it.
The better you understand the tool, the more freedom you have as an artist.
What Do You Really Know About Your Shears?
- Which size actually suits the way you cut?
- How does handle design affect hand position and control?
- How do different blade forms change movement through the hair?
- Why does one shear slide while another gives greater precision?
- How do you control a slide without losing direction?
- How does blade angle affect movement and finish?
- When should you change your grip or handling?
- What creates freedom and flow?
- What creates stronger control and precise handling?
- What is the difference between a regular texturizer and a reverse texturizing blade?
- How do tooth design and orientation change weight removal?
- How do you know when the limitation is your technique - or your tool?

🟠 Come to Experiment
You do not need to arrive knowing which Mizutani is right for you.
That is part of the experience.
Try a different size. Change the blade. Change the handle. Adjust the grip. Compare what happens.
The goal is to leave with a clearer understanding of what your tools are capable of and what becomes possible when the tool fits the way you want to work.
More control when you need precision. More freedom when you want movement. More confidence to experiment and develop your own way of working.
🟠 Highly Limited
The afternoon workshop is intentionally kept small so every artist has meaningful time with the scissors, the stations and the educators.
