Effective September 22nd, 2021, Eikonic Academy will enforce Ontario's proof of vaccination policy.

What does this mean for staff and students?

The Ontario government has released 3 options, which will be strictly enforced for any students and staff that attend or work at Eikonic Academy.  The minimum requirement is to provide proof of at least one of the following in order to enter Eikonic Academy:

Option 1: Full vaccination against COVID-19

Students and staff are required to provide their final vaccination shot receipt showing 2 COVID-19 shots have been administered, to be downloaded and emailed to us for record keeping.  Full vaccination, by provincial rules, is defined as 14 days after 2 COVID-19 vaccinations has been administered.  This means that even if you have received 2 vaccines, you still need to wait a full 14 days before Eikonic Academy can consider you to be fully vaccinated.  Full vaccination proof can be downloaded here

Option 2: A medical reason (with a doctor’s note) for not being vaccinated against COVID-19

Students and staff who have a medical condition that prevents them from being vaccinated must provide a doctor’s note citing such, and will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test weekly in order to enter Eikonic Academy.

Option 3: Completion of a COVID-19 vaccination educational session

Students and staff who cannot provide proof of vaccination and do not have a doctor’s note providing medical exemption for getting the vaccine will be required to complete a COVID-19 educational session (which includes a test that requires a passing grade of 100% or higher) and provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test weekly in order to enter Eikonic Academy.

Where can I get proof of a negative COVID-19 test?

Currently, Eikonic Academy will provide a temporary free testing service to our students only.  We will be testing students on Monday and Thursday between 9:00am – 9:30am.  Any students who miss this time frame will be required to find their own proof of a negative COVID-19 test at their own expense.

What happens when I cannot provide proof of at least one of the 3 above options?

Any student who does not adhere to this proof of COVID-19 vaccination policy will not be allowed to enter the campus, and will not be able to complete their in-person practicum hours.

What does this mean for clients that come into Eikonic Academy?

As of right now, personal hair services are still considered non-essential, and clients who receive services at Eikonic Academy are not required by this mandate to provide proof of vaccination.  However, everyone’s safety continues to be our first priority, and we will continue to enforce our COVID-19 contact tracing questionnaire and physical distancing policies we have in place until further guidelines are presented by the Ontario health department.
